Where Faith Meets Medicine

A Woman's Guide to Health, Hormones, and Longevity

You're exhausted, your labs keep coming back "normal," and no one has told you why. Courtney Garner, APRN wrote this book for the woman who's ready for a real answer, not another prescription to manage the symptom.

Book cover titled 'Where Faith Meets Medicine' featuring a woman in a white suit sitting on a beige chair, holding a stethoscope, with a bouquet of white roses on the floor.

By Courtney Garner, APRN, CNP, ABAAHP · Nearly 20 Years in Healthcare · Founder of WellSpot Functional Medicine

Women May Be Living Longer. Far Too Many Are Living Depleted.

Nearly 80% of autoimmune diseases affect women.

One in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. Chronic fatigue affects women at almost twice the rate of men. These aren't fringe statistics anymore. They're becoming the norm.

If you've been told your exhaustion is just motherhood, your weight gain is just aging, or your brain fog is just stress, you already know how that feels. Not wrong, exactly. Just incomplete. Your labs come back "normal" and you're sent home still feeling like something is off, because you know your own body better than a reference range does.

This book was written for that moment. Not to hand you another diagnosis to live with, but to help you understand what your body has been trying to tell you all along.

This book is for you if…

You're tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix

Your labs keep coming back "normal," but you don't feel normal

You've been told your fatigue, weight gain, or brain fog is just stress or just aging

You're navigating PCOS, infertility, thyroid dysfunction, or hormone imbalance

You had a baby (or several) and never fully got yourself back

You're in perimenopause or menopause and feel like your body stopped listening to you

You want a health approach that treats your faith as part of the answer, not something to leave at the clinic door

You don't need a diagnosis to start this book. You just need to be done normalizing how you feel.

Written by a Nurse Practitioner Who Lived This Story First

A woman with shoulder-length hair, wearing a white blazer and pants, sitting on a cream-colored armchair against a white paneled wall, with one eye partially closed, smiling slightly.

Before Courtney Garner was treating women with hormone chaos, fatigue, and autoimmune disease, she was one. In nursing school, a birth control prescription led to an unexplained seizure. Later, over-exercising and restricting food to control her weight caused her cycle to disappear altogether, and she was diagnosed with PCOS and infertility. The night before starting fertility treatment, she canceled the appointment, addressed the inflammation and stress underneath it instead, and conceived naturally months later.

That experience is why she built WellSpot Functional Medicine and why she wrote this book. For nearly two decades in healthcare, and more than a decade practicing functional medicine, she has sat across from woman after woman describing the same thing: exhaustion, hormone chaos, and a medical system that hands them a label instead of a root cause.

Courtney Garner is a board-certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN, CNP) and a board-certified anti-aging health practitioner (ABAAHP). She's the founder of WellSpot Functional Medicine in Owasso, Oklahoma, seeing patients in-office and via telemedicine. She's a wife and mother of three.

The WellSpot Pillars of Well™: A Root-Cause Framework, Not a Quick Fix

Instead of chasing symptoms one at a time, Where Faith Meets Medicine walks you through the seven pillars Courtney uses with her own patients every day. Each one builds on the last.

Step 1

Pillar 1 – Faith and Mindset

Realigning how you see your body and your symptoms before anything else changes.

Step 3

Pillars 6–7 – Hormone and Metabolic Balance, Connection and Community

Making sense of cortisol, thyroid, and sex hormones in plain language, and rebuilding the relationships and support that healing actually requires.

Step 2

Pillars 2–5 – Nutrition, Movement, Rest, Detoxification

Rebuilding the daily foundation, food as fuel, movement that strengthens instead of depletes, rest as design instead of indulgence, and reducing the toxic load most women don't realize they're carrying.

Every chapter ends with a Selah, a pause to reflect, apply what you read, and pray it into your own life.

"Your symptoms are not random. Your body is not broken beyond repair. And your story is not over."

– Courtney Garner, APRN, CNP, ABAAHP, from Where Faith Meets Medicine

What This Book Actually Gives You

Not a list of things to try. A way to finally understand why your body has been struggling, and a plan grounded in the same framework Courtney uses with her own patients. By the end, you'll have language for symptoms you've been carrying for years, a clear next step for each of the 7 pillars, and, as Courtney puts it, the ability to "regain your health so you can live a long, vibrant life and fulfill every purpose to which you were called."
